Avoid ATM Surcharges Using Privileged Status ATM Locations

You may have heard through the media that Iowa has now become one of the final states to allow adding a surcharge to an ATM transaction. This could happen to you if you use an Iowa Falls State Bank ATM card at a terminal not owned by our bank. The owner of the ATM would impose the additional charge incurred. The "surcharge" is typically $1 - $1.50 per transaction.

Many of you who have traveled outside of the state have probably already encountered this additional fee when using an ATM and may be wondering if there is away to avoid these extra charges. The answer to that question is that you can avoid being surcharged.

Iowa Falls State Bank recently joined a program with other community financial institutions called "Privileged Status" which will provide you a surcharge free transaction. To find a "Privileged Status" ATM look for the familiar SHAZAM logo that also contains a Privilege Status logo on the machine. You will not be surcharged at that ATM terminal.

To find Privileged Status terminals throughout the United States click on the SHAZAM logos above. This will allow you to locate surcharge free ATMs throughout the United States.
